Settings and setup
Open the gear in the title bar to adjust the workspace. Use Set up Flux for tools that need installation.
General
Set up Flux… checks the terminal launcher, Python plotting, Word export through Quarto, PDF through Quarto, and AI integrations. See Installation for requirements and commands.
FluxConfig folder shows where your shared library and context live. Use Reveal to open it or Move… to relocate it through Flux. Projects remain separate folders. See Library and configuration.
Agents controls access to the current Flux window and the agent runners used by Ask. Window access applies to that project’s Flux window. Connect an agent describes setup; Comments and Inbox describes Ask, watching and live pairing.
Updates controls checking for a newer desktop version on launch. Palette controls whether new projects include the Flexoki palette.

Inside a colour picker, Tab changes between palettes and colormaps; Shift+Tab cycles collections. Press F with objects selected to open the property menu. See Layout, drawing and typography and Edit plot parts and data views.
Paper
Choose the dynamic margin’s background, set the maximum number of open panes (1–6), and enable Clean dynamic margin to close panes when focus returns to the editor.
Caret motion has its own feel setting. Chase settles toward the target; Smooth uses a short, constant-pace glide. Document text size is adjusted in Paper and is independent of export typography. See Writing tools.
Corrections
Configure local spelling and punctuation corrections, dictionaries and aliases. Optional sentence judgment has a separate provider choice and setup. The local managed model and cloud provider are explicit choices; see Writing tools for behavior, downloads and data handling.
Where to find other preferences
Some controls belong beside the work: slide themes and animation styles live in Slides; library services and Zotero settings live in Library; export styles are chosen when exporting a document.
